How do we go from taking control of our lives to giving control of our lives to God? How do we go from thinking of ourselves to thinking of others? How do we go from wanting our way to delighting in God’s ways? How do we go from holding on to letting go?
it’s about dying. Not physical death but death to our selfish ways. And dying to self is not a one-time event. In 1 Corinthians 15:31 Paul said I die daily. We can only do that when we realize that the motivation for giving God our whole lives and dying to self is because we know it will result in life. That’s the good news: when we do it God’s way we find our life. We find joy and peace in Him and he gives us a better life than we could ever imagine.
But it takes humility to do things God’s way. We must admit that our way doesn’t work and God’s way is better. Christ – our example - humbled Himself even to death on the cross.
