BRANDON TONEY

Student Minister

Brandon Toney was born in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in a single parent household, was raised by his mother Vickie Vershun Kennard and was brought up around his uncles and grandparents. His grandfather, Pastor A.C.Toney, was the Pastor Pleasant Zion Baptist Church where Brandon attended every Sunday.

Brandon took an interest in sports early in his life, but musical talent runs in the family.  At an early age, he wanted to play drums and would beat on pots and pans in his grandmother’s home, leading to the purchase of his first drum set.

In 2012 Brandon accepted his call into ministry. He preached his first sermon at his Grandfather's church. In January 2013 he became licensed as a minister at Heaven’s Embassy City Church where he served as Youth Minister and later as Men’s Pastor. From 2014 - 2016 he preached at youth conferences and to adults in Cleveland, OH and Washington D.C.

Brandon has also served as part of Inspire at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas and with FCA at Cedar Hill High School and Duncanville High School. He continues to serve in ministry playing drums and serving youth and young adults!

Brandon has a 5-year-old son named Bryson whom he loves and adores very much.
