OUTREACH

- CHANGING EARTH MINISTRIES -

We are Touching Heaven and Changing Earth through outreach.

The Outreach Ministry of Grace Fellowship Church is constantly growing and changing. We analyze the local community to determine the breadth and scope of needs. We also assess congregational strengths and abilities for outreach and determine how we can respond to the needs of our community, utilizing our congregation’s abilities, strengths and interests.

We encourage people to have an outward focus, knowing that when we reach out to  others, we have a beautiful opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. This goes  along with our vision: Touching Heaven - Changing Earth. We look for new ideas and avenues to reach out to people as well as offer encouragement and support for those participating in outreach ministries.

Contributions support outreach efforts to our church and community.

CHANGING EARTH MINISTRIES : HOMELESS

Providing temporary relief for the community and families of Grace Fellowship Church in times of need. It is also our goal to feed our homeless neighbors. Canned goods and hygiene products donated by church members and for-profit organizations with a heart for helping make it possible. If you would like to contribute time, non-perishable food items or cash donations to the food pantry, please contact us.

MARY CARTER

Changing Earth Ministries : Homeless

As a little girl, my heart always went out to people in need. I watched TV about missionaries going into foreign countries feeding children and adults.  This became a passion for me.  I did not realize until God saved, sanctified, and filled me that this was the purpose and calling for my life.  God annointed me with the gifts of giving, helps, and hospitality.

I have devoted my life to "Serving the Lord with gladness"  which for me is serving people.  God allowed me the opportunity to serve homeless individuals at a food distribution center in the Dallas community near Harry Hines in the 80s'.  In the Southeast Texas community of

Jasper, I served as director of a senior center where meals were delivered to home bound seniors, transportation provided for doctors visits and for shopping and a site for them to gather for fellowship.

While attending C. H. Mason Bible College, I continued serving in my community.  During that time, I received a Certificate of Excellent Achievement for outstanding contributions to my  state, community and schools from Booker T. Hunter, President of the NAACP.

God continues to support and allow opportunities for service.  I am grateful that he and he alone designed me for this purpose.

CHANGING EARTH MINISTRIES : NURSING HOME

TIM AND LYNDA BULLERWELL

Changing Earth Ministries : Nursing Home

Tim felt a calling in his heart for missions as a boy and began volunteering in nursing homes in his early 20’s. Recently, God called Tim again to be more involved in missions.

Lynda also had a calling in her heart for missions at a young age. When she was 13-16, she visited nursing homes singing in a school choir for the residents. She has recently felt a calling to reach out once again to nursing home residents through handwritten letters with embellishments hoping to bring joy to those who receive them.

Tim and Lynda have also volunteered serving food to the homeless. They are both grateful that through Changing Earth Ministries, they have the opportunity to bring joy and share God's word with those who desperately need encouragement!

Writing letters to someone who can't have visitors during COVID-19 just might make a big difference! Email missions@gfc.cc to get started communicating with people around the corner who need to know they are important.

ANGEL TREE

Grace Fellowship Church supports its members and members of our community through Angel Tree Ministry. Through Angel Tree, your giving provides the gospel and a gift or meal to a child at Christmas time!

Your sponsorship of a GFC Angel Tree child will provide a gift for a child or cover the cost of a meal for an entire family. Your sponsorship of a Prison Fellowship Angel Tree child will provide a gift and the Gospel on behalf of their parent in prison.

Thanks to your generosity, GFC families and children of incarcerated parents will experience a truly unforgettable holiday season!
